Today I woke up happy
Don’t quite know what to say
It’s been ages since I felt
My heart convulsing in this way

Oh, come on, are you serious?
Are you really that naïve?
Don’t you know your heart is empty
And has no more love to give?

I know, that’s what I thought
But I guess I was wrong
I can feel my brain numbing
For not working for this long

Stop deluding yourself
You can feel it in your soul
That lingering seed of self-doubt
Coming to eat you whole

Even so, I’ll just try to ride
This good mood for a while
While I wait for reality
